Scholarships

General Scholarship Program

DC Pearls III Foundation, in conjunction with Rho Mu Omega, awarded four (4) scholarships to graduating seniors in the District of Columbia’s public, private and chartered high schools. The scholarship program recognizes outstanding seniors who exhibit scholastic excellence, involvement in extracurricular activities, essay writing, financial need and service in the community. By offering these scholarships, we hope to enhance a child’s opportunity to attend an institution of higher learning, which otherwise may not have this opportunity. Also, the scholarship program allows Rho Mu Omega to continue its commitment to serving our community, enhancing the black family and supporting our Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Debutante Cotillion Scholarship Program

D.C. Pearls III Foundation, with Rho Mu Omega, hosted the second annual Debutante Cotillion on Macrh 25, 2011. This program is an outstanding opportunity for young ladies to experience a wide array of cultural, academic and social activities, while at the same time obtaining scholarship funds to support their college career. Young ladies enrolled in the eleventh and twelveth grades of high school who have high academic standing, contribute positively to the climate of their school and are actively involved in the community are encouraged to apply for our third annual cotillion. This unique program is an experience that will remain in the hearts and minds of each young lady. HBCU College Tour

DC Pearls III Foundation continues to provide funding support for Rho Mu Omega’s Annual Historically Black College Tour. By offering this college tour, we hope to enhance a child’s opportunity to attend an institution of higher learning, who otherwise may have not had the opportunity. The college tour participants consisted of Washington Metropolitan area high school juniors and seniors. The students were able to visit 10 HBCUs located in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia. The students had an opportunity to visit with college administrators and admission representatives, tour the campuses and apply for admission during the campus visit. As a result of the college tour, students were accepted to Johnson C. Smith University, Virginia State University, Norfolk State University and Hampton University.
