Taking A Stand to Making a Difference

Welcome from the President

Dear Friends,

Thank you for visiting D.C. Pearls III Foundation online. D.C. Pearls III is a 501(c)(3) District of Columbia based organization that has served as the fundraising arm of the Rho Mu Omega Graduate Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated since the Foundation was established in 2000. Founded at Howard University in 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha is a nonprofit organization of more than 200,000 women in the United States, the Caribbean, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Through 930 college campus chapters and graduate chapters, like Rho Mu Omega, Alpha Kappa Alpha members carry out a national program currently emphasizing "ESP: Economics, Service and Partnership," and focusing on economic empowerment, education, supporting the black family, and health.

With financial support and donations from individuals, businesses and organizations, D.C. Pearls III is able to raise funds to support Rho Mu Omega's extensive community outreach. Our joint efforts have benefited District of Columbia students through college scholarship awards; sponsorship of an annual college tour of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU's); and a partnership with the Luke C. Moore Academy D.C. Public High School for non-traditional and at-risk teenagers. D.C. Pearls III Foundation programs also support volunteer projects throughout the metropolitan area such as the Loaves and Fishes feeding program for the home less and needy; social activities with senior citizen groups; and donations to entities like the Whitman Walker AIDS/HIV Clinic; Suited for Change; and Komen Race for the Cure for breast cancer research and awareness.

In December 2009, we hosted our annual Auction Jazz Brunch at the Mandarin Oriental and raised more money than any event fundraiser to date! Thank you for your support. This May 5th, we will host "Project Pink" fashion show benefit at the Hyatt Regency Capital Hill. Please purchase a ticket to support. For tickets and donor information email: dianna@campbellpalmquistgroup.com

We hope that you will read more about our important work on this site. D.C. Pearls III Foundation also welcomes your tax-deductible donations to support our impact-filled events. If you are a federal employee, please consider giving to the foundation through Combined Federal Campaign (CFC # 57353) donation. D.C. Pearls III Foundation can be found on www.cfcnca.org/donate.

D.C. Pearls III Foundation hopes that we can count on your support to help us continue to practice the Sorority's goal of ”service to all mankind."

Thanks for your support!
